I found the idea interesting that the word "female" evokes so many emotions or descriptions at once, and that when a man hears the word he "projects all females at once onto woman" (21). If a female organism has a different character in each species (dominant as a spider, subservient as a lioness, etc.) then being female doesn't really have a meaning other than in reproductive purposes. It would be more effective to just think of each person as an individual and not attach assumptions based on gender (like females must be weak, females must be this or that), because if there are so many identities it just goes to show that everyone is unique.
