Climate Change

Darwin’s theory of natural selection seems to apply very well to climate change. In fact, Darwin even writes extensively on the issue of changing climates of the Earth.  Darwin writes that when the Earth changes temperature some animals will adapt and thrive on this environment whereas other will not. Darwin would likely not look at this issue this way. There is little evidence to dispute the reality of climate change and that humans are responsible for this. Darwin in his work only looked at climate change without the insight of fossil fuel emission.  Darwin might see this issue in a similar light to domestication. Humans are “choosing” to have the Earth at a higher temperature especially in the last 20 years when Al Gore wrote “The Inconvienient Truth”. Since humans are aware of the harm of fossil fuel emissions they are “choosing” which organisms survive based on man’s goal of tolerance in new climates.
